Data Storage
Where Log Data is Stored
Fluency uses AWS S3 buckets for data storage. We store all data for a full 365-days, which is hot searchable. Each enterprise client has a private segmented S3 bucket, ensuring isolation of their data. To address privacy compliance needs such as GDPR, we stand up these individual S3 buckets in the nearest AWS Region, based on where the data is located.
For multi-national companies, we will stand up individual S3 buckets based on each international location. For example, if a company has three locations: USA, Germany, South Africa, we'll create three buckets. The data never leaves the assigned geographic location. The meta data results will be fed back to the Fluency Overview Summary page so the SOC/NOC analyst can start to work potential alerts. When drilling down for further analysis they would access the data uniquely within that private S3 location.
